Question 125

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Is there any signifigance in the two thieves crucified with Jesus?

Answer:

YES, as a matter of fact there is.

The Bible, ESPECIALLY the Old Testament has many TYPEOLOGIES that represent certain things in scripture.

Here is three Typologies and what they represent

– Enoch: Represents the rapture.

(Genesis 5:24) And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

(1 Thessalonians 4:16,17) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

– Noah’s Ark: Is a Type of Christ.

(Genesis 6:14-16) Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. (15) And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. (16) A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

– The Pitch represents Christ blood.

(Ephesians 1:7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

– The Door represents there is ONLY ONE WAY to heaven, which is THROUGH CHRIST ALONE.

(John 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

– Genesis 7:16 When the Lord(God) shut the door of the ark it represents OUR ETERNAL SECURITY of our salvation.

(Ephesians 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

– Noah’s Ark also Represents PROTECTION from the judgement (wrath) of God.

when we TRUST CHRIST ALONE for OUR salvation we are passed (Protected) from death (God’s Judgement in hell) unto life (salvation).

(John 5:24) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

– Issac Is a Type of the Lord Jesus who by his Father offered up his son for the sins of man.

(Genesis 22:9) And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

(2 Corinthians 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

– The Wood represents the Cross which Jesus was Crucified on.

(1 Peter 2:24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The Two Thieves that where crucified besides the Lord Jesus Christ REPRESENT the two types of people in this world.

– The UN-Believing Thief represents the Lost UNSAVED person.

(Luke 23:39) And one of the malefactors (thief) which were hanged railed on him (Jesus), saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

– The Believing Thief represents the Believer in Christ. – The Saved

(Luke 23:40-43) But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? (41) And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. (42) And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. (43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

(John 3:18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

(John 3:36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Those like the BELIEVING THIEF who have TRUSTED Christ alone as their personal saviour the complete payment for ALL their sins HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

Those like the UN-BELIEVING THIEF that HAVE NOT trusted Jesus Christ has their personal saviour the complete payment for ALL their sins will ENTER HELL to be tormented in fire in agonizing pain for eternity the very second that they die.

(2 Thessalonians 1:8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey (Believe) not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Revelation 20:14,15) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins. the MOMENT you believe(TRUST in Christ ALONE) you recieve eternal life.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
