Question? Do we have the preserved words of God today?
(2 Peter 1:20,21) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Answer:
If you are asking me if I agree with what the KJV ONLY people believe CONCERNING the KJV Bible then my answer is NO. But if you are asking me if we have the INSPIRED Word of God today then my answer is YES.
I believe that God has GIVEN us his INFALLIBLE, INSPIRED, PRESERVED Word through the Five Thousand plus manuscripts in which the KJV Bible was TRANSLATED from.
The KJV is the ABSOLUTE BEST TRANSLATION there is available today by far.
One thing a person MUST REMEMBER that the King James Bible is a TRANSLATION, in other words, it is a COPY, of a COPY, of a COPY, of a COPY right down through over FIVE THOUSAND PLUS manuscripts to the originals.
ONLY the originals were DIVINELY INSPIRED all other manuscripts and bibles are COPIES.
The one fact that KJV ONLY people DO NOT want to believe or admit to is that there were OTHER great bibles BEFORE the KJV Bible existed.
Bibles that Existed before KJV:
1. Tyndale’s translation (1525)
2. The Coverdale Bible (1535)
3. The Matthews Bible (1537)
4. The Great Bible (1539)
5. The Geneva Bible (1560)
6. The Bishops Bible (1568)
and MANY MANY more…
To make the CLAIM that the KJV is the ONLY bible that God “PRESERVED” without errors is ERRONEOUS at best, Taking that POSITION a person has to admit and agree that all those men WHO suffered persecutions, torture, and every kind of horrible death from the organized church of the time could think of to PREVENT the Word of God to be put in to the common language of the people so that they could read and study God’s Word for themselves was STUPIDITY on their part.
The KJV bible is the VERY BEST BIBLE there is today available but it IS NOT One Hundred Percent ERROR FREE there are MINOR translation variances within its pages that have to be CROSSED REFERENCED with the original Languages (Hebrew, Arabic, & Greek) to ensure that the meaning of the word or words mean what the original language INTENDED, otherwise you would have to come to the ERRONEOUS conclusion that NOBODY had the Word of God before King James had his bible printed.
This is WHY we are told in 2 Timothy 2:15 to:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
And to SEARCH the scriptures DAILY
(Acts 17:11) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
The reason is GIVEN in the last part of Acts 17:11 – Whether those things were so.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
