Question? Sir, could you give some insight to 2 Thessalonians 2:7 please?

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Answer:

This verse at first glance can lead a person to confusion IF NOT understood within the context of Verse 3, & 4.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Verses 3 & 4 are speaking of The Rapture (A Falling Away First) and the Anti- Christ (That Man of Sin, The Son of Perdition).

The MOST CONFUSING part of V7 is the Phrase “LETTETH WILL LET”

To better understand this phrase lets examine to WHOM V7 is speaking about.

V7

– Mystery of Iniquity = Refering to the Anti Christ of Verses 3 and 4.

– Doth already Work = Refering to Satan’s plan to Blind and keep those who are lost Blineded to the Gospel.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

– Only He = Speaking of the Holy Spirit.

– Who Now = During this present time CALLED the Church Age.

– Letteth will Let = Hindereth and (will continue to) Hinder satan’s plan mentioned in V3 & 4

– Until He Be Taken Out Of The Way = NOT UNTIL the Holy Spirit who INDWELLS every believer upon salvation is RAPTURED to meet Christ in the Clouds, then those things mentioned in V3 and 4 will take place.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

In Conclusion:

The Holy Spirit NOW IS HINDERING satan’s plans to make HIS CLAIM and to be worshiped as god.

Satan KNOWS his time is short and this present time we live in called the Church Age is coming to the end.

The time IS NOW to TRUST CHRIST ALONE as saviour personally while it is still easy.

People will still be able to be saved AFTER THE RAPTURE but satan will make it very difficult through his lies and control of this world through every aspect possiable.

(2 Thessalonians 2:11) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

THE LIE in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 is refering to when satan declares himself to be God in the middle of the 7 year tribulation period and those that are NOT SAVED at that time WILL BELIEVE that satan is god, WILL TAKE his mark 666, and WORSHIP HIM as their god, thats the LIE.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
