Question? Revelation 22:18, & 19 what is your answer sir?

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Answer:

I believe that these two verses are pretty self explanitory, God DOES NOT take tampering with his written word and means EXACTLY what he has said.

Some people always think they know more than God. We have everything the Lord wants us to know from Genesis to Revelation, in His Word, the Bible.

A good application of V18 would be to take salvation for instance, ANYBODY that preaches or believes in a Faith PLUS WORKS salvation is in reality ADDING to the Word of God simply because that person is rejecting what God already wrote and said How a person is saved ONLY BY believing in alone in the Death Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ for Everlasting Life and Payment For all sin.

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (12) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

In Verse 18, people added to God’s Word. In Verse 19, they took away from His Word, which amounts to, they did not believe the Bible, God’s Word to all humanity.

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him (5). Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar” (Proverbs 30:5-6).

Verses 18 and 19 are describing LOST PEOPLE who want nothing to do with the God’s Word. The evidence is two-fold:

-Take away from the words of the book.

“Take away” is the Greek “onairio” from “ana” meaning “up” and “airo” “to take.” Literally, it means to lift up or away, hence To Put To Death, and is usually translated to “kill or slay. In other words, “Get the Word of God out of here, and throw it in the dump!” (Put it to death.)

– God’s Response. Take away his part out of the book of life,

The unbeliever’s name was put in the Book of Life at conception. (Psalm 139:15,16).

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. (16) Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

When a person dies WITHOUT having trusting Christ as Savior The Bible states in Psalm 69:27-28, and Revelation 20:15

Psalms 69: 27,28 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. (28) Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

God has the last word, not them.

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

In Conclusion:

In order to be saved a person MUST COME to Christ Just as they are WITHOUT TRYING to add their Good Works or offer their Self Righteousness WE MUST simply Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou Shalt Be Saved – Acts 16:31

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
