Question? I noticed the word POWER is used many times, what are your thoughts on this?
Answer:
The word POWER is the Greek word DUNAMIS, It is mentioned approximately 145 times in scripture, and it gernerally CARRIES the definition of GREAT strength or POWER.
In 1866 when Alfred Nobel invented Nitroglycerin the STRONGEST word for the new explosive was sought and they found the word DUNAMIS in which our english word is derived from meaning DYNAMITE.
– The WORD OF GOD (the Bible) as scripture says in Hebrews 4:12 IT IS POWERFUL or DYNAMITE.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
– The WORD OF GOD (the Bible) is an ATOMIC BLAST against false doctrine and those that teach it.
(2 Timothy 3:16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(1 John 4:1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
– The WORD OF GOD (the Bible) says in 1 Peter 1:5 that we are KEPT SAVED by the POWER of God.
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Those THAT CLAIM and teach that a person get lose their salvation really DO NOT BELIEVE in the power of God’s Word, for if they did they would understand and realize that NOTHING including satan, his army of demons, or any human merit can overpower or undue the security of our salvation we have THROUGH CHRIST and HIS WORD.
(John 10:28) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
NOTE: the word man IS ITALICIZED meaning that it was ADDED BY the translators in attempt to add clarity to the verse, but in this case it only has CAUSED CONFUSION, leading many to believe that a person can remove themselves from God’s hand which is a metaphor for Eternal Life. The KEY PHRASE in John 10:28 is they shall never perish.
John 10:28 carries what is called a DOUBLE NEGATIVE in grammar, NEVER & NEITHER
– THEY = The Believer.
– SHALL NEVER = Cannot, Will Not, Never Will.
– PERISH = Goto Hell.
God and his word MAKES IT CLEAR how powerful or DYNAMITE it is.
In Conclusion:
The WORD OF GOD (the Bible) states that MANY will depart (stray away) from THE TRUTH of God’s Word as the end of Church Age draws near.
(2 Timothy 4:3,4) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
And MANY WILL deny the power or the dynamite that the Bible has for Popularity, Fear, or Money.
(Proverbs 29:25) The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
(1 John 2:16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
