Question 362

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? What should our attitude towards work be?

Answer:

Are attitude SHOULD BE to do OUR BEST for, in reality, we are doing the Will of the Lord because the Lord COMMANDS US to work and by doing our best we set a GOOD TESTIMONY.

Colossians 3:22-23 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: (23) And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

1 Timothy 6:1-2 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. (2) And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Titus 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again.

Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Not everyone is called to be a Pastor or Missionary but ALL of us are called to work even the Apostle Paul made tents to earn money.

Acts 18:1-3 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; (2) And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. (3) And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Since the Pastor or Missionary CANNOT be at all places or reach all people the Lord RELIES ON those of us who labor at a Job to REACH THOSE there for him with the Gospel.

I believe that being a working man or woman is just as much of a calling of the Lord as being called to be a Pastor or Missionary.

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins. the MOMENT you believe(TRUST in Christ ALONE) you receive eternal life.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
