Question? In your opinion sir, what should the primary goal of a church be?

Answer: The answer is Two fold,

FIRST:

EVANGELISM, the outreach for the Lost with the Gospel.

The Bible states In Proverbs 11:30…

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Proverbs 11:30 APPLIES both to the individual and the Church body, but some christians have it in their mind that witnessing and sharing the Gospel is primarily the pastor’s job but this is not so, for we are ALL CALLED to reach the lost for Christ.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

SECOND:

To teach those that have come to Christ by faith alone SOUND DOCTRINE and build them up in the faith so that they can be of GOOD USE to the Lord.

It does GREAT DISSERVICE to share the CLEAR GOSPEL to get them saved and then to just fill their heads with bad teaching, it is likened unto finding a cookie in a garbage can.

The Gospel is the FOUNDATION or basis that every christian builds on.

1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

The Gospel is the STARTING POINT in which NEEDS to be ACCOMPANIED BY with SOUND BIBLICAL TEACHING

Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

There are MANY CHURCHES that are straight on the Gospel, BUT I CANNOT recommend them to anybody BECAUSE as I had said before they offer the cookie (the Clear Gospel) in the garbage can of BAD UNSOUND TEACHING of the likes of The Young Earth Creationism, Two Gospel System (faith + works in OT & faith + nothing in NT), or the Grace of God ends at the cross of Calvary to just name a FEW HERESIES that are taught among many.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.

IN CONCLUSION:

SADLY many churches HAVE FAILED to have stand fast on both the First and Second goals for they CANNOT and should not be separated, to do so is to create a UNBALANCED CHRISTIAN who in all reality as the bible declares in the book of James a DOUBLE MINDED MAN and not much of use to the Lord.

James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins. the MOMENT you believe(TRUST in Christ ALONE) you recieve eternal life.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
