Question? Please contrast the Dead Sea and the Jordan River with the Christian Life?
Answer:
The only Practical Life Application in comparing the Dead Sea and the Jordan River to the christian life taught by any Pastor that I have heard of is by the late Dr. Hank Lindstrom WHO made this comparison.
– The Dead Sea:
This body of water has a inlet (water enters) BUT no outlet (water exits) therefore the water after a while STAGNANTES and becomes lifeless BECAUSE it has no flow to stay fresh.
The same is true for the Christian, If all they do is “TAKE IN” ( ie learning the bible) but never “GIVES OUT” (share what they have learned) the Christian will eventually “Become Stagnant” and lifeless (as far as being of use to or for the Lord) BECAUSE there is NO FLOW (no purpose in life).
– The Jordan River:
This body of water has both a inlet and outlet in which water CAN FLOW therefore remaining fresh and full of life.
The same is true for the Christian, Those that GIVE OUT (share and use what they have learned) HAVE FLOW therefore remaining fresh (being useful to the Lord) and full of life (have purpose in life).
In Conclusion:
My Pastor Dr. Max D. Younce (http://heritagebbc.com) has said MANY TIMES through out the 25 years I have had the PRIVILEGE of learning from…
“How can I (Max Younce / Whosoever) do less than give him (Jesus Christ) my best (serving faithfully) after all he has done for me” (dieing and paying for all his / their sins).
All the Lord wants to do is to BLESS and REWARD you and the quote above “Embodies” or expresses that very desire and fact – 1 Corinthians 3:11-15.
(11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (12) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; (13) Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. (14) If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. (15) If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Don’t be a Dead Sea christian who is stagnant and lifeless and has no flow and DOING NOTHING for the Lord but rather be a Jordan River christian WHO IS continuously flowing (being productive) for the Lord.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
