Question? Why can’t Romans 10:10 be used for salvation?

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Answer:

Because it is NOT the Gospel. UNFORTUNATELY Romans 10:10 -13 has been SO MIS-USED by Preachers, Churches, and in Gospel Tracts that it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to convince anyone today otherwise, Roman’s 10:10 – 13 was NEVER INTENDED to be used to lead someone to Christ for salvation.

Let’s break Romans 10:10 down to see why.

– For with the heart: The word HEART is the Greek word KARDIA and it is used FIGURATIVELY in V10 “Representing” a persons thoughts, or in other words their mind or Intellect.

– Man believeth unto righteousness: Question? Believes What?… Answer: The Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

NOTE: Once a person trust Christ and his payment alone for sin on the cross they are DECLARED RIGHTEOUS (perfect) in God’s eyes and NOW is allowed to enter heaven.

– With the mouth confession is made: The word CONFESSION means “To Give Testimony of”. A person NEVER has to CONFESS anything to become saved, to have to WOULD add works to the Gospel.

– Unto salvation: Question? Salvation in WHO’s eyes?… Answer: In peoples eyes.

The intent of Romans 10:10 is that when a person Trust Christ they are to GIVE TESTIMONY and share the Gospel of their salvation to others so that THEY TOO can be saved.

Consider what the Apostle Paul said in V1 of Chp.10…

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

This SHOULD also be EVERY CHRISTIAN’S desire – to lead others to a saving knowledge in Christ.

In Conclusion:

Romans 10:10 is just a declaration of sharing one’s testimony of what has ALREADY taken place (Believing in Christ as saviour) and to give witness for the VERY PURPOSE of winning others to Christ Jesus for salvation.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
