Question? What does God say about walking away from family that DOES NOT treat you well?
Answer:
In Romans 12:18 the Bible says…
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
To get a clear understanding of what this verse is saying let’s break it down and Take Note of what it says.
– If All Possible: This indicates that it is NOT ALWAYS possible to coexist together with all people even including with one’s children and or own family.
– As much as it lieth with you: In other words “Under your Control”.
Sadly some situations are “Beyond a person Control” scripture only states we are to “Live Peaceably” (get along) together IF ALL POSSIBLE within our control.
SOMETIMES because of the Attitudes, Treatment, and or Hostle Interactions from others calls for what I believe (by my understanding of If all possible) a seperation from those if need be.
In light of Romans 12:18 I see nothing in this verse OR in scripture that says you have to continually tolerate and suffer people’s disrespectful attitudes and actions.
In Conclusion:
We are to ONLY TRY (If all Possible) to get along (Live Peaceably) together BECAUSE the “Grand Goal” is to lead people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
There are a MANY heartbroken individuals that despite how hard they tried had to seperate and remove themselves from the lives of their family or of their children.
The Bible states…
2 Thessalonians 3:6 & 14 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw (seperate, remove) yourselves from every brother (christian) that walketh (live) disorderly (contrary), and not after the tradition (Word of God) which he received of us. (14) And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company (fellowship) with him, that he may be ashamed (convicted).
My recommendation is: Pray for for them yes and separate and remove yourself till things change.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
