Question 494

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? What does the bible say about those that walk out on the Lord?

Answer:

In 1 Corinthians 9:16 the bible states…

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

TAKE NOTE of the word WOE in V16, it means JUDGEMENT to those that by choice CHOOSE to not preach the gospel or “Walk Out” on the Lord.

This is a VERY SERIOUS warning by the Lord through the Apostle Paul.

The only “Real Peace” a christian has in this life is one that is lived in obediance and accordance to God’s will for their life.

God’s word says that “Whatever” the Lord has called a person to do that calling is WITHOUT repentance (change of mind), in other words if the Lord has called a Man (not a woman) to the pastorate that is what the Lord wants him to do UNLESS the Lord leads him to another field of ministry.

Romans 11:29
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

1 Timothy 3:1-2 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop (pastor), he desireth a good work. (2) A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.

1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.)

Although not specifically spelled out in scripture BUT alluded to, any christian for example that “Walks Out” (for unbiblical reasons) on the Lord will NEVER have the same effectiveness and power for the Lord as they once had BEFORE they quit, WHY??? because the Lord knows he CANNOT trust them when the “Road gets Rough”. MANY christians live defeated lives BECAUSE they have “By Choice” have benched themselves.

In Conclusion:

The motto of the United States Marine Corps is “The Few, The Proud”.

“The Corps” is LOOKING for men and women who will EXEMPLIFY that thought.

The Lord is ALSO looking for “The Few and Faithful” christians who DESIRE to accomplish his will for the world.

1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
