Question 518

Question? In Colossians 3:18 Please explain “As it is Fit in the Lord”, Thanks?

Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

The word FIT is the Greek word ANEKO and it means PROPER, in other words “The right thing to do”, or “Following In like manner”.

The understanding here in Colossians 3:18 is that… As long the Husband is OBEYING and DOING the “Will of the Lord” THEN the Wife is to… “Do the right thing” and “Follow In like Manner” as her Husband and being his HELPMEET.

Genesis 2:18, 21 – 22 (18) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. (21) And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; (22) And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

BUT if the Husband REFUSES to obey the Lord THEN the Wife IS NOT under ANY obligation to obey the demands of her Husband IF they go CONTRARY to the Word of God.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
