Question? What did Jesus mean by “Go in and out” in John 10:9?

John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Answer:

“And shall go in and out” – Is a FUTURE reference to the New Jerusalem mentioned in Revelation 21:2 -25 in which all Christians (Saints*) will have complete access to come and go and visit all the heavenly host and to worship God the Father who will reside there.

*SAINTS – Only those who have “Believed on Christ” alone for HIS payment on the cross for their sins ARE CALLED saints.
This is NOT done by a man made appointment or by a council of the Roman Catholic Church.

Revelation 21:2,:22-25 (2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (22) And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. (23) And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. (24) And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. (25) And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

The words FIND PASTURE is a reference to having PEACE, SECURITY, and REST.

NOTE: ONLY those who have Trusted in Christ ALONE as saviour HAVE that “Peace, Security, and Rest” of their salvation THROUGH Jesus Christ.

Consider Psalms 23:2, Romans 5:1, and Matthew 11:28…

SECURITY – Psalms 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

PEACE – Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

REST – Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I Am the door = Jesus is the ONLY WAY to heaven, ONLY BY his payment on the cross for OUR sins gives us eternal life and entrance into heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
