Matthew 21:33 through V43 is called the “Parable of the Householder”

To keep it simple lets just hit the high lites of these verses.

– V33,35,38, & 40:

Matthew 21:33
Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

Matthew 21:35
And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

Matthew 21:38
But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

Matthew 21:40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

The word “Husbandman” IS the Nation of Israel.

– V34,35,36:

Matthew 21:34-36 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. (35) And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. (36) Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

The word “Servants” ARE the Prophets Of God.

– V34:

Matthew 21:34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

The word “Fruit” IS the Word of God (Bible) and the Gospel.

The Fruits of it are the Blessings and Rewards of sharing the Gospel and the Word of God.

– V37,38:

Matthew 21:37-38 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. (38) But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

The “Son” and “Heir” IS Jesus Christ.

“His Inheritance” IS the Gift of Eternal Life” GIVEN TO only those that placed their Trust(belief) on Christ and in him only alone for the payment of their sins and salvation.

Those that sought to kill (Crucify) – Mark 15:11-13) Jesus Christ (The Son) THOUGHT that by through THEIR OWN self righteousness (Matthew 5:20). would gain eternal life (His Inheritance).

– V39:

Matthew 21:39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

The Scribes, and Pharisees HAD the Lord Jesus captured. The Scribes, and Pharisees CONVINCED the rest of the UNBELIEVING Jews (Mark 15:11 – 13) to have the Lord Jesus crucified (John 1:11).

– V41:

Matthew 21:41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

The words “Those Wicked Men” ARE the Unsaved Religious Leaders and Unbelieving Jews THAT KILLED the Prophets that God had sent and Crucified the Lord Jesus.

He will “Miserably Destroy” simply means that these Unsaved, Unbelieving Jews WILL upon death go to hell for their UNBELIEF and WILL STAND before Jesus Christ as THEIR JUDGE at the Great White Throne Judgement to recieve their degree of torment in the Lake of Fire (Revelations 20:11-15).

The “Other Husbandmen” ARE the Gentiles.

Being that the Nation of Israel as a whole “Nationally” NOT INDIVIDUALY (for their were Jews that DID BELIEVE, Hint – This is how we got our bible) that REJECTED Christ as their Messiah (Saviour) The Lord went to (used) the Gentiles TO PROCLAIM the Gospel and His Word”.

– V42:

Matthew 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

The Stone IS Jesus Christ, The Builders IS the Nation of Israel.

– V43:

Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

The “Kingdom of God shall be taken from you” is in reference to ALL THE lost blessings and rewards for rejecting Christ as Messiah and failure to share the Gospel and the Word of God.

Given to a Nation ARE ALL the Gentile Nations.

Bringing forth the Fruits ARE the Blessings and Rewards FOR sharing the Gospel and the Word of God.

In Conclusion:

The whole Parable of the Householder was a FUTURE PROPHECY that Lord Jesus was revealing A TRUTH that the Nation of Israel would Reject him as their a Messiah as a Nation and Crucify him and he would then use the Gentile (Non Jew) Nations TO DECLARE the Gospel and His Word.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
