Question? In 1 Corinthians 9:27 what does the word CASTAWAY mean?

Answer: The word CASTAWAY means Disapproved or Unapproved from the Greek – “adokimos”

There are some churches that TRY TO USE this verse to prove that a person can lose their salvation, they RATIONALIZE that if a person DOES NOT remain faithful then they will become disapproved of God. This verse has NOTHING to do with salvation BUT OF SERVICE.

The Apostle Paul was NOT IN FEAR of losing his salvation, but rather losing rewards for failing to be faithful in service in preaching thus saith the Lord, It is EASY TO COMPROMISE the Word Of God to be liked but it takes DETERMINATION to stand for truth.

In Revelation 3:15, the bible speaks of the Church of Laodicea, and God’s REBUKE of them was that they were NEITHER cold nor hot, WHICH represents MOST churches of today these churches have the ALL the look and outside appearance of a bible believing church but they have compromised in their stand on the bible, the teaching of doctrine, and the preaching of the cross in order to GAIN a larger congregation therefore the Lord says In 2 Timothy 3:5 – “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away”.

The christian has the SAME CHALLENGE as the Apostle Paul did, Are you going to STAND on the THUS SAITH THE LORD? or are you going to COMPROMISE to be liked and be DISAPPROVED FOR SERVICE to the Lord, The Lord CANNOT use a church or an christian that WILL NOT stand firm on the Word Of God.

Do Not let Satan make you a CASTAWAY(disapproved – Gr. adokimos) and ROB YOU of rewards that YOU CAN RECEIVE in heaven, and the BLESSINGS to be given here on earth.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell & the lake of fire); but the GIFT of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
