Question? My pastor said that if you are not living the christian life then you better check your salvation, What is he implying?
Answer: What your pastor is implying & teaching is what is called LordShip Salvation.
LordShip Salvation is a FALSE GOSPEL based on the FALSE idea that every christian will serve the Lord and live the christian life.
In 2 Peter 2:7, & 8 God VEXED(convicted) Lot’s RIGHTEOUS SOUL. In reading Genesis Chapter 19 you would not have KNOWN Lot was even saved if it had not been for God having 2 Peter 2:7, & 8 written.
The Apostle Paul knew the struggles well of the old nature versus the new nature(Read Galatians 5:17 & Romans Chp 7:15).
Hebrews Chapter 12:5-7 states:
“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: (6) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (7) If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Not every christian is going to serve the lord or live the christian life, SAD that fact is but that is the truth and Lot is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of a carnal christian, there will be a lot of Christians that will be saved as so by fire (Read 1 Corinthians 3:11-15) and when they stand before Christ ALL their works will be considered as Wood, Hay, and Stubble in the eyes of the Lord and will be all burnt up having NOTHING to show of any service to the Lord or living the christian life.
Psalms 118:8 says: “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man”.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell & the lake of fire); but the GIFT of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
