Question? Sir do you believe in dress codes for church?

Answer:

If you are refering strictly to Suits and Ties for men and Dresses for women then my answer is NO.

Please don’t get me wrong, I believe that you SHOULD wear the best that you have to church, REGARDLESS it be Suit and Tie, Dress Pants and Shirt, or a pair of Jeans and T-Shirt. The whole point is to get people to come to church to hear the GOSPEL and the WORD OF GOD, not to set some fashion standards to be followed in order to step foot in the church.

Those that HOLD to the strict belief that a person MUST wear a certain attire for church are known as legalistic, or militant, their sugar daddy verse is Deuteronomy 22:5

(Deuteronomy 22:5) The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Deuteronomy 22:5 IS NOT refering to a dress code for the church. this verse is REFERING to the lifestyle of Homosexuality, Lesbianism, Transgederism, Cross Dressing, ect, NO WHERE in the bible do you find a verse that says or even eludes to “Thou shalt wear such and such clothing to attend church”.

My Pastor, back in the early days of his ministry had a bus ministry for the church that he was pastoring at the time, it was brought to his attention that one of his men that was driving one of the bus routes was NOT ALLOWING certain people to board the bus BECAUSE of what he (man driving the bus) thought was proper attair for people to wear to church because after all he (man driving the bus) believed that a certain image had to be held up because there was NO WAY that HIS (man driving the bus) church was going to have people wearing common street clothing attending or be seen in his church. Well that little stunt backfired on him and my pastor who is MORE CONCERNED about getting people Saved and teaching them the Word of God instead of what people are wearing DIMISSED this man from driving the bus route.

Sadly churches get caught up with the UN- IMPORTANT issues that mean NOTHING in God’s eye instead of the MOST IMPORTANT and that is PREACHING THE GOSPEL AND TEACHING THE WORD OF GOD RIGHTLY DIVIDED.

(2 Timothy 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

(2 Timothy 3:16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins. the MOMENT you believe(TRUST in Christ ALONE) you recieve eternal life.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
