Question? In Zechariah 4:10 can you tell me what it means For who hath despised the day of small things?
(Zechariah 4:10) For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Answer:
These words were spoken to the response of the people CONCERNING the refashioning of the Temple.
This temple WAS NOT as GRANDIOSE as Solomons Temple had been.
Zechariah TOLD THE PEOPLE that they SHOULD NOT despise the day of small things,
A Practical Application of these words can be APPLIED in this way:
– If you have a small Church or Ministry DO NOT despise it for it may be a POWERHOUSE for the Lord as far as The Gospel and reaching people with the Word of God is Concerned.
Bigger DOES NOT always mean Better. There are ALOT of Mega Churches that HAVE NOT reached nearly as many people for Christ as a small (in the eyes of men) Church or Ministry has.
To be truthful MOST Mega Churches are MORE CONCERNED about HOW BIG they are, HOW MANY PROGRAMS, TV STATIONS, RADIO STATIONS and HOW MUCH money they are pulling in then they are about the people and their NEED of the GOSPEL and being TAUGHT the Bible RIGHTLY…
In Conclusion:
Let’s NOT FORGET and despise the day of small things, for the Lord MIGHT have more in store as far as blessings etc for you or that small ministry than there would be if you were MORE PREOCCUPIED with a much larger ministry.
REMEMBER it IS NOT the size BUT THE faithfulness that counts in God’s Eyes.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell), but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
