Question? Help me make sense of Proverbs 17:15?

(Proverbs 17:15) He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

Answer:

Here is a simple breakdown to help make it more understandable.

– He that justifieth the wicked:

The WICKED represents ALL OF mankind for we are ALL sinners.

(1 Peter 3:18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.

(Romans 5:8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The Lord JUSTIFIES the sinner (wicked) THROUGH FAITH ALONE when a lost unsaved person BELIEVES and TRUST ALONE ONLY in the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the COMPLETE PAYMENT for ALL their sins.

– And he that condemneth the just:

The JUST represents ALL those that HAVE Trusted Alone in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross for their salvation, those that have are NOW and ALWAYS be saved.

(John 19:30) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

(Hebrews 10:10,12) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (12) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.

The Lord CONDEMNS the Just (saved) of their POOR Manner of Living, Testimony, or their REFUSAL to do the Will of God, by WITHHOLDING blessings in this Life and Rewards in Heaven.

(2Corinthians 5:10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

(1 Corinthians 3:11 – 15) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (12) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; (13) Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. (14) If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. (15) If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

– They both are abomination to the LORD:
(Matthew 23:15) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

(Romans 8:9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

The JUST (Saved) are a ABOMINATION to the Lord THROUGH their Sinful Lifestyle, their Poor Testimony, and their Unwillingness to serve the Lord.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
