Question 254

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Why did God command Saul in 1 Samuel 15:3 to kill the infants?

The reason God COMMANDED Saul to kill everything INCLUDING the children is, If the Infants were allowed to live when they had grown up THEY would have followed THE PAGAN beliefs and practices of their parents, since the children were KILLED before the AGE OF ACCOUNTABILITY they went to heaven instead of being allowed to live and then die to go to hell.

(Romans 3:20) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The Apostle Paul uses the reference of the Law to ILLUSTRATE the truth of KNOWING right from wrong and UNDERSTANDING that one is a sinner

(Romans 5:13) (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Please FOCUS on the second half of Verse 13 “sin is not imputed when there is no law”

What Verse 13 is saying when there is NO KNOWLEDGE of sin (NOT knowing right from wrong and that you are a sinner) then you ARE NOT held accountable.

As in the case of Infants, Very Young Children who die before the age of accountability and those Mentally Disabled I believe that this portion of Verse 13 can be applied here when in comparison with the words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ in Mark 10:14. “For of such is the kingdom of God”.

(Mark 10:14) But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

A person MUST REMEMBER one thing, God SEES ALL THINGS from eternity past to eternity future and HE KNOWS ALREADY who will, who won’t, or CANNOT (because of age or diminished mental capacity because of retardation) place their Trust In Christ personally as savior are all under God’s SPECIAL GRACE.

Also as in the case of infants and very young children, it is far better for them to die than to allow them to live and REJECT CHRIST and BELIEVE NOT the Gospel later in life.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell), but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
