Question 294

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? What is your stand on Halloween sir?

This HAS BEEN a hot topic for years amongst Christians, Some hold that Halloween should be considered evil and avoided at all cost then there are others that consider it no different from the other holidays being that they ALL ARE derived from pagan roots.

MY POSITION is that I side with the latter rather than the former.

The Apostle Paul wrote by inspiration…

(Romans 14:5) One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

The truth is that ALL HOLIDAYS have pagan roots and histories unless we are going to be like the Jehovah Witnesses and avoid any and all holidays and celebrations for religious reasons I believe that the Apostle Paul WAS CORRECT when he said Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

In Conclusion:

If YOUR CONVICTION is to avoid Halloween then do so, if you have NO CONVICTIONS against it then have fun with it.

Nowhere is it written that a person has to dress up like Witches, Devils, Monsters and the Like.

WHY NOT dress up like Noah, Moses or some other Bible Person and make it a time for your children to HONOR the Lord rather than satan.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
