Question? Is Jeremiah 4:23 – 26 referring to the renovation of the earth with fire?
(Jeremiah 4:23 – 26) I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. (24) I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. (25) I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. (26) I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
Answer:
NO, I do not believe so. I believe these verses are SPEAKING ABOUT what happened to the Original Earth mentioned in Genesis 1:1. and 1:2.
(Genesis 1:1,2) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
There are those that TRY TO TEACH that Jeremiah 4:23-26 will take place at the end of the 1,000 year reign of Christ here on earth. I simply disagree with that interpretation!!!
– Young Earth Advocates FALSELY TEACH that the earth is only 6,000 years old.
– Young Earth Advocated TRY TO SAY that Exodus 20:11 is proof text of creation 6,000 years ago.
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
we are simply NOT TOLD how old this earth is, man on the other hand HAS ONLY been on this earth for 6,000 years.
To VALIDATE what I said what happened to the Original Earth in Genesis 1:1, lets examine some things.
– V23: The first question you must ask yourself “Would God CREATE ANYTHING that was Without Form and Void” – Genesis 1:2
(Genesis 1:2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
ANSWER: NO he would not.
(Isaiah 45:18) For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, (Without Form and Void) he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
If that is true, then SOMETHING HAPPENED to make it TO BECOME that way!!!
And that SOMETHING WAS satan and all the angels that lived on the Original Earth (Genesis 1:1) REBELED against God – Isaiah 14: 12-14.
(Isaiah 14:12 – 14) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (13) For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: (14) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
(Revelation 12:4,9) And his (Satan) tail drew the third part (1/3rd) of the stars (Angels) of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. (9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Satan WAS NOT pleased to just rule over all the angels here on the original earth – (Genesis 1:1), he ALLOWED PRIDE to overtake him and wanted to overthrow God, sit on his throne in heaven and be worshiped as God.
(Proverbs 16:18) Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
– V25: TAKE NOTICE that it says “there was no man”, Of course there wasn’t, Man HAD NOT YET been created, Man DID NOT live on the Original Earth ONLY Satan and the Angels did.
If God had created the angels at any time during the creation week, it would be recorded in the first two chapters of Genesis. IT IS NOT, It does not make sense that God could create Lucifer and he would have time to fall and deceive a third of the angels to follow him, during the week of remodeling. This is not a logical conclusion, since Job 38:4 – 7 shows the ANGELS were in existence before the “foundations of the earth” were laid.
(4) Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. (5) Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? (6) Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; (7) When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God (angels) shouted for joy?
The Original Creation of the earth in Genesis 1:1 was for the habitation of Lucifer (Satan) and the angels. When Lucifer rebelled against God, this was the first sin that we know about as recorded in God’s Word.
(Ezekiel 28:15) Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Hell Was Prepared For the Devil & His Angels
One might ask, what in the world does this have to do with the young earth advocates claiming, “There was no sin or death before Adam, and projecting a 6,000-year old earth? Let us go to God’s Word and see who Hell was prepared for, as described in Matthew 25:41.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.
The “everlasting fire” is the same as the “lake of fire” in Revelation 20:10, “hell fire” in Matthew 5:22 and “hell” in Matthew 23:15, along with several other places.
Hell was first prepared for “the devil and his angels,”NOT Adam and Eve. This, again, disintegrates the false theory that there was no sin or death before Adam as young earth people advocate. If there was no sin before Adam, then WHY wasn’t Hell prepared for Adam and Eve, instead of the Devil and his angels?
There are Three things that the Young Earth Advocates LIKE TO CLAIM…
#1- “There was NO SIN before Adam”
Q: Then how do you explain satan in the Garden of Eden TEMPTING EVE to sin.
(Genesis 3:1) Now the serpent ( Satan) was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden.
Answer: The record is perfectly clear that Satan had sinned prior to Adam and Eve; or, he wouldn’t have tempted Eve to sin.
#2- “There was NO DEATH before Adam”
Answer: The Bible clearly teaches that there was sin and death before Adam, as described in Genesis, Chapter Three. My Bible teaches that Eve sinned BEFORE Adam. Eve ate first and was the first to be spiritually dead, also resulting in
physical death, as her physical body would later die. So, there
was sin and spiritual death before Adam.
#3- “ALL that God created Was Good”.
Answer: God saw everything that He HAD “MADE” (Hebrew – “asah”) in the six days of remodeling ( to make Re – Inhabitable), including things created and things reused FROM THE Original Creation. Then He rested on the seventh day. – Genesis 1:3-2:3
In Conclusion:
The Original Creation was then rendered “without form and void,” being completely covered with water and darkness as recorded in Genesis 1:2. This was God’s judgment upon Satan and the one-third of the angels that followed him (Revelation 12:4). The angels are spirit beings now, known as demons.
The earth remained this way for possibly thousands, millions, or even billions of years before God remodeled it (made it Re – Inhabitable) for human habitation in 6 days. The first day of remodeling began in Genesis 1:3. This is what hell was created for, “the devil
and his angels;” because they were the first created beings and the first to sin. Your young earth advocates totally deny the Biblical authority of Genesis, Chapter One, in the original text.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
