Question? I have been taught It is always God’s will to heal, is this true?

Answer: No it is not…

The Modern Tongues and Healing Churches and Ministries would like for you to believe that BUT it goes contrary to the Word Of God.

In 2 Corinthians 12:7 – 10 we have the record that God DOES NOT always heal.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. (8) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. (9) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

The Apostle Paul had a Thorn in the Flesh (V7) in which he asked the Lord in prayer (V8) to have it healed (Depart from me) and the Lord’s answer was to Paul was NO (V9), and the Lord gave his reasoning in V10.

The purpose of the Lord for NOT HEALING Paul was for Paul’s benefit, God ALLOWED Paul to be AFFLICTED with a physical ailment. Through this, God GAVE Paul the ability (grace) to deal with this burden (V9). God USED Pauls affliction to make him a stronger witness and testimony for Christ (V10), and the same is true today for us.

The Lord KNOWS us better than we know ourselves and he ALLOWS sickness, Difficulties, and Hinderances to keep us focused and dependant upon him rather than upon ourselves or other things that might draw us away from his will and purpose for our lives.

To get back to the initial question “Is it God’s will to always heal” then we have contradictions recorded in the scriptures of those that were left unhealed.

A few of those mentioned NOT HEALED

Timothy – 1 Timothy 1:2, 5 23 (2) Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. (23) Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

Trophimus – 2 Timothy 4:20 Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

The last miracles recorded in the New Testament took place around 58 A.D. (Acts 28:1-9) after that there were NO MORE Speaking in Tongues, Faith Healing, etc.

Acts 28:1-9 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. (2) And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. (3) And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. (4) And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. (5) And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. (6) Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god. (7) In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. (8) And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. (9) So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed.

According to scripture if you had the ability to perform one of the sign gifts you have the ability to perform ALL of the sign gifts they ALL ACCOMPANIED each other together, let’s look at Mark 1617,18…

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

TAKE NOTE: In V17 it says “And THESES SIGNS (Plural, NOT Singular) shall follow them. So unlike what the Tongue or Faith Healer advocates claim, if you have the power to perform one you have the power to do all, so MY CHALLENGE to ALL Tongue and Faith Healer advocates is if you claim those powers then DRINK a whole gallon of Bleach, Strychnine, or Draino BECAUSE according to Mark 16:18 it WILL NOT hurt you if you REALLY HAVE the Sign Gifts.

In Conclusion:

The truth is, In I Corinthians 13:8-10 we ARE TOLD that Speaking in Tongues, Visions, Revelations from God and ALL of the OTHER sign gifts WOULD STOP, or END at the completion of the Word of God which happened when the Book of Revelation was penned by the Apostle John around 96 A.D.

1 Corinthians 13:8-10 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. (9) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. (10) But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

TAKE NOTE: In V10 the words “THAT WHICH” is the Greek word TELEIOS it is in the NEUTER GENDER referring to the word PERFECT as an object.

Question? What do we have today from God that is PERFECT?

Answer: The Word of God, commonly known as The Bible.

The word “Perfect” DOES NOT refer to Jesus Christ as those in the Tongue and Faith Healing ministries claim.

In order for the word PERFECT to refer to Jesus Christ it would have to be a Noun but it IS NOT it is in the NEUTER GENDER referring to the completed Word of God from Genesis to Revelation, God has a hard enough time to get mankind to believe the 66 books of the Bible little alone anything extra.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins. the MOMENT you believe(TRUST in Christ ALONE) you receive eternal life.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
