Question? In your opinion sir what is the best way to memorize verses?
Answer:
Each person has their own way of memorizing scripture that works best for them.
The best way I found FOR ME was to take a verse and write it down and then memorize it in sections until I could quote the entire verse in whole.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Ephesians 2:8-9
(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
OR
John 3:16
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
In Conclusion:
My best advice is for any new christian is for them to start with the easy verses especially salvation verses like John 3:16, Acts 16:31, and Ephesians 2:8,9 and get those cemented into your mind first then move on to longer, harder scriptures.
It has been said that the late Dr. A.Ray Stanford – 1917 to 2012 (the Founder of Christian Youth Ranch and President of the original Florida Bible College could quote most if not the entire bible from memory and that I say is VERY IMPRESSIVE.
OUR AIM should be to strive to memorize as much of the Bible as we can, for THE MORE we know THE MORE the Holy Spirit can use us.
To put it this way “You cannot take out what you don’t first put in”.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
