Question 435

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Dear Brother, I confessed a sin to the Lord, But I still feel Guilty can you help?

First things first YOU did the right thing.

The Scriptures states in 1 John 1:9…

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The moment you went to the Lord, He FORGAVE you and had FORGOTTEN the sin or sins that you confessed to him.

The Scriptures states in Psalms 103:12 & Micah 7:19…

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

According to scripture as far the Lord is concerned any all CONFESSED sin or sins ARE forgotten and REMOVED “As far as the East is from the West” and are BURIED in the “Depths of the Sea” to be remembered NO MORE and to be NEVER brought up again.

The BEST ADVICE I can give you concerning your guilt is this…

YOU DID IT, YOU CONFESSED IT, MOVE ON, Please DO NOT think I am making lite of sin all I am saying is DO NOT let Satan ROB YOU of that “Peace of Mind” or the “Assurance from the Scriptures”.

Satan will ALWAYS TRY to “Keep us feeling Guilty” about our sins.

In John 10:10 Satan TRYS to do three things if he can and that is to STEAL, KILL, and DESTROY.

The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

– Satan WANTS TO STEAL your or my Happiness and Joy.

– Satan WANTS TO KILL your or my desire to serve the Lord.

– Satan WANTS TO DESTROY you or I in Guilt.

BUT the Lord wants to GIVE US abundant life one that CAN BE ENJOYED without the excess baggage of Shame, and Guilt.

In Conclusion:

If you have sinned, CONFESS THEM, If you have then MOVE ON for they have been Forgiven and forgotten.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
