Question? In V20 of Hebrews 12 Why could not the Mountain be touched and when will V26 take place?

Hebrews 12:20 & 26 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: (26) Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

Answer:

To answer the first part, In V20 the mountain is Mount Sinai mentioned through out the Book of Exodus and other parts of the bible, the reason nothing could not touch the mountain lest it die was because when this command was given God was occupying the mountain to give Moses the 10 commandments and the Law therefore making the mountain Holy Ground and nothing that is not righteous can be in the presence of or come in contact with God and his holiness.

The answer to V26 is, This event will take place at the end of the Lord Jesus’s One Thousand year reign here on earth upon which according to 2 Peter 3:7 he will renovated the earth with fire and as V27 of Hebrews Chp.12 and Isaiah 13:13 state EVERYTHING will be Shakened and Removed and a New heavens and a New earth will be established according to Rev 21:1.

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Hebrews 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
