Question 522

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? In John 2:1-10 Mary exclaims to Jesus “they have no wine.” Jesus tells her My time has not yet come, do you think that Mary exclaiming this to Jesus would indicate that Jesus was performing supernatural tasks well before this time in secret? I have not found much scripture that tells the story of Jesus’s early years ? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank You again for your ministry I love reading your Qs & As… GOD BLESS!

Answer:

Thank – You, I am glad TO KNOW that you have been blessed by my Bible Q & A’s, but I take NO CREDIT it is DEFFIENTLY ONLY through & by the Lord’s help.

Scripture is silent on the 18 year gap between the ages of 12 to 30 of Jesus early life and we are simply not told.

I believe the 18 year gap teaches us a Biblical Principal that lays the foundation that there is Gap periods of Time mentioned in scripture STARTING WITH Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 in what is called a first mentioned principal. – See my Q & A #326.

Whenever something is first mentioned in scripture “That Wave of Truth” WILL BE carried through out all of the Bible.

As far as Mary thinking that Jesus was performing miracles in secret, the answer is No, I don’t believe that was the intent of her question.

What Jesus meant by his answer that “His time was not yet Come” WAS THIS…

His time to be OFFERED UP as payment for sin had not yet come AT THAT TIME speaking of his blood as the wine (grape juice) that every Christian drinks at the Lord’s supper in remembrance that his body (the bread) was CRUCIFIED and his blood was shed as the payment for the sins of the world.

Matthew 26:26-27 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. (27) And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
