Question 528

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Psalms 49:8, explain ceaseth forever?

Psalms 49:8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

Answer:

The Lord is simply stating that the christian (their soul is precious*) upon death will NO LONGER physically exist in its unglorified state BECAUSE the body will decay and break down (over time) BACK to the elements that it was once created from UNLESS the Rapture takes place before or shortly after their death.

*The words “Their soul is precious” is ONLY USED in reference to those who have “Placed their trust in Christ” as their saviour and his payment on the cross for their sins.

Consider 1 Thessalonians 4:13, & 1 Corinthians 15:52,53

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1 Corinthians 15:52-53 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
