Question? Have you heard the term “Get ready for the Lord”? and what does that all imply?
Answer:
I remember back in the Mid 70’s & Early 80’s this phraseology “Get ready for the Lord” and its’ varents were POPULAR catch phrases among those who claimed to be christians.
The implication was that a person needed to GET RIGHT with the Lord in order to be taken to heaven at the Rapture, SADLY this message was USUALLY coupled together with a false WORKS BASED GOSPEL that involved a person DOING SOMETHING along with believing that Christ died on the cross for their sins, this kind of gospel CANNOT and WILL NOT save and MOST CHURCHES have a Works PLUS Faith message.
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
In order to “Get Ready” or to “Get Right” with the Lord all a person must do IS BELIEVE.
BELIEVE that Jesus Christ DIED for your Sins.
1 Corinthians 15:1-3 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
BELIEVE that Jesus Christ PAID ALL your sins on the cross.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
BELIEVE that Jesus Christ three days later RESURRECTED from the dead.
Luke 24:1-7 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. (2) And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. (3) And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. (4) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: (5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? (6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, (7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
In Conclusion:
The Gospel is really THAT SIMPLE, man and religion ADD WORKS thinking that they are doing God a favor by helping out but in reality they are fulfilling Satan’s goal to keep as many out of heaven right into hell as possible, PLEASE don’t let that be one of you.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
