Question 581

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Could you explain Taketh Away in John 15:2 and is it refering to in losing one’s salvation?

Answer:

In John 15:2 Jesus is talking to christians, Since salvation IS eternal – John 3:15 and everlasting – John 3:16 it CANNOT ever be lost or taken away.

John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

The words TAKETH AWAY could be better understood as The Loss Of and Forfeit.

Verses 2 & 5 mentions Four Types of Christians, which are…

No Fruit, Fruit, More Fruit, and Much Fruit.

The Lord’s DESIRE is that ALL christians be a MUCH FRUIT christian, but, it is a sad but true fact that MOST christians will fall into the first category of being a NO FRUIT christian, hence forth the words TAKETH AWAY speaks of The Loss Of… Joy, Happiness, and Peace and The Forfeiture of Blessings in this life and Rewards later in heaven.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
