Question? The Fine Linen and the Righteousness of the Saints of Revelation 19:8 what do they have in common?
Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Answer:
The Fine Linen and Righteousness spoken of here REPRESENTS the works and service that a christian does for the Lord, this is what they have in common, for they are one and the same.
It is written in Isaiah 61:10... I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
To give a mental picture, Think of a Winter Jacket that consist of a Inner Liner and a Outer Shell.
The garments of salvation is the Inner Liner which Represents the christian’s salvation, the Righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21) that God requires and demands in order to be allowed entrance into his heaven.
This INNER LINER is ONLY GIVEN to those WHO Trust Christ and his payment alone for their sins.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
The Robe of Righteousness is the Outer Shell that represents the works and service that a christian does for the Lord.
The more faithful and dedicated (1 Corinthians 4:2) a christian is in serving Christ THE MORE Ornaments (Blessings) and Jewels (Rewards) as Isaiah 61:10 talks about WILL THEY HAVE.
1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
In Revelation 16:15 the verse states…
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
TAKE NOTE of the words Blessed, and Lest he walk Naked.
I believe this verse can be doubly applied to both the lost person and the saved person.
For the lost person… They are BLEST if they Trust Christ as their savior.
The word NAKED in this sense means NOT HAVING the required righteousness or perfection (Inner Liner) that God demands to allow them entrance into his heaven.
For the saved person… They are BLEST for their faithful service to their savior.
The word NAKED in this sense means NOT HAVING anything (Outer Shell) to show of what they done for Christ.
In Conclusion:
If the christian wants to experience the Joy’s, Happiness, and Peace of this life in which I have learned, is found in… “Putting Christ First”.
Galatians 5:22 & 23 puts it in this way… But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
