QUESTION… John 5:29 states doing good for life and doing evil for damnation. What is the good I must do, and the evil I must avoid?
John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
ANSWER…
The answer is not what you must do or must not do, but rather a matter of belief. Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
TAKE NOTE… That they said LOOK at what we did, NOT Lord We Believe.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Over 105 times in the book of John alone the words Trust and Believe are used interchangeably in a person placing their faith (belief) alone in the Death, Burial, & Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ONLY PAYMENT for all their sins and the reception of the Gift Of Eternal Life. What John 5:29 is saying… They that have done Good, (placed their faith (belief) alone in the Death, Burial, & Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ONLY PAYMENT for all their sins), that person will have Resurrection of Life (Eternal Life – John 3:16, Acts 16:31). And those that They that have done Evil (Have not placed their faith (belief) alone in the Death, Burial, & Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ONLY PAYMENT for all their sins), unto the resurrection of damnation. (sent to Torment (Hell) and the Lake of Fire – Revelation 20:11-15).
In Conclusion:
The ONLY REQUIREMENT if you want call it that in order to recieve eternal life and go to heaven is simply Believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and Died to make the complete payment for your sins, was Buried and Resurrected from the dead and that is it, nothing more and nothng less.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins – See 1 Cor. 15:1-4.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved – Acts 16:31
The moment that you do, YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
– Christ AROSE as proof that God accepted Christ payment for your sins – 1 John 2:2, Matthew 28:6, 1 Peter 3:18
–BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Rom.6:23
