Question… Are there things mentioned in the bible (give verses please) that OUR GOD cannot do?

Answer…
Yes there are MANY VERSES recorded In the Bible that God directed over 40 different men spanning across over 1500 years to write down (2 Peter 1:20,21) things that He CANNOT DO that he has promised or take back once given.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Here is a short list…

1. God Cannot Lie.

Hebrews 6:18 “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.

(Other verses supporting this truth are)… Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Romans 3:4; Titus 1:2; 1 John 1:10; and 1 John 5:10.

Are not you glad God is not lying to us about what He has done, is doing and soon will do concerning His Plan and His Word.

2. God Cannot Change.

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed”.

(To verify, compare)… Psalm 90:2,4; Psalm 102:27; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17; and Revelation 1:8.

God is absolutely resolute about His plan for man. Are you not grateful that God does not change or randomly change His mind.

3. God cannot break a promise.

Psalm 89:34 “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips”.

(Also see)… Leviticus 26:44; Jeremiah 14:21; and Jeremiah 33:20–22, Romans 11:29.

Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance”.

The word REPENTANCE is the Greek word Ametamelētos and it means irrevocable… as in irreversible, not capable of being changed; impossible to revoke

Are you glad that God has kept His promises in the past and will keep His promises now and forever.

Side Note: Salvation is A GIFT therefore God WILL NOT take it back or remove it, For it is Everlasting (time without end).

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”. 

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

4. God Cannot Stop Loving You.

Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee”

(Consider)… Deuteronomy 7:7–9; Psalm 103:17; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:3–6; and 1 John 4:19.

Thanks be to OUR GOD that he loved us enough to give His only-begotten Son (Jesus Christ) for us.

NOTE… God even still loves those that are in Torment (Hell) but by free will rejected Christ as their saviour and his FREE GIFT of eternal life.

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”.

5. God Cannot Be Silenced.

Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

What a comfort to know that no matter what the Doubters, Unbelievers, & Deniers say or do THEY CAN NEVER eliminate, destroy or rid the world of God’s Holy Word.

In Conclusion…

God’s very nature and his righteousness guarantees what he what has spoken, promised & given, WILL NOT, & cannot be undone, reversed, or revoked.

In all reality this is not even a scratch on the surface of things that God said that He cannot do.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins -1 Cor. 15:1-4.

The moment that you do, YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

– Christ AROSE as proof that God accepted Christ payment for your sins – 1 John 2:2, Matthew 28:6, 1 Peter 3:18

–BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
