Question Seventy Four

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? In 1 Timothy 2:14 it says Adam was not deceived, I thought both Adam and Eve sinned?

(1 Timothy 2:14) And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

They both did.

The difference was that Adam sinned WILLINGLY, instead of obeying God and his command to NOT EAT of the tree of Good and Evil, he listened to his wife, Adam SHOULD HAVE realized that God would have provided him with another wife, but he did not and by FREE WILL he chose to sin.

(Genesis 3:17) And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened(listened) unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

NOTE: God ALLOWS every person the FREE WILL to Believe or not to Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” as their personal saviour and complete payment for sin. God sends no one to hell we send ourselves there, God only honors our choice if we DID NOT trust in Christ as our saviour prior to our death.

Eve ALLOWED satan (the serpent – Genesis 3:1) to cause her to DISOBEY God.

(Genesis 3:1) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

NOTE: Satan DID NOT appear as a snake as most teach today, it only DESCRIBES his character, It is no different then us saying that a person is “Sly as a Fox” or “Cool as a Cucumber”. Satan is described with MANY different names such as The Dragon, the Old Serpent – Revelation 20:2, 12:9, The Thief – John 10:10, Murderer and a Liar – John 8:44. ect.

In Conclusion:

1. Adam WILLING sinned.

2. Eve ALLOWED satan to deceive (Trick, Lie) to her.

3. They BOTH sinned and DISOBEY God and thus were banished from the Garden of Eden.

(Genesis 3:23,24)

“(23) Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. (24) So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life”.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

A. Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

B. Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

C. BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
