Question Seventy Six

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? What is Living out your baptism mean, I have heard this at many funerals?

Answer:

To be honest that phrase is NOT FOUND no where in the Bible,
We are NEVER told to “live out our baptism”, but to LIVE FOR CHRIST.

(Philippians 1:21) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

I suppose the preachers that have said this meant that the deceased person had been living what HE or SHE* THOUGHT was the christian life

*NOTE: Any church that has a woman as a preacher/pastor goes against God’s Word – 1 Timothy 3:1,2

(1 Timothy 3:1,2)

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work (2) A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

It is pretty tough to be the husband (male) of one wife(female) if your a woman preacher/pastor.

MOST churches THINK that being a good person will in one form or another will help you earn a place in heaven it just depends on which denomination on which formula you get, even though good works have NO PART and CANNOT and WILL NOT get you to heaven not even help you a little tiny bit, WHY? because God considers ALL our deeds(works, merits ect) as filthy rags if we think they will help us even in a tiny way to get to or help us to heaven.

(Isaiah 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

(Romans 4:5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

(Titus 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

The Lord Jesus WANTS US to be living GOOD TESTIMONYS for him for the very perpose so that he can:

– Bless Us here on earth

– Reward us in heaven

– Use us to share the GOSPEL to a lost, hell bound world

(Romans 12:1,2)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

(2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

(Matthew 5:16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The word “GLORIFY” is the greek word doxazo and it means to honour. HOW DOES a lost person honour God?

ANSWER: by TRUSTING IN Jesus Christ ALONE as Savior, BELIEVING that he (Jesus Christ) went to the cross, shed his blood, and three days later arose from the dead as the COMPLETE PAYMENT for their sins.

(1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

(2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

(3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

(4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
