Question Sixty Four

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Sir could you give just a simple basic explanation of Psalm 22, 23, and 24?

Answer:

These are called the Shepherd Psalms BECAUSE they speak of Jesus Christ in his shepherding ministry.

Psalms 22:

The Good Shepherd(Jesus Christ) DIES for the sheep(you/me). – John 10:11

(John 10:11) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Psalms 23:

The Great Shepherd(Jesus Christ) lives and cares for the sheep(you/me). – Hebrews 13: 20 – 21

(Hebrews 13:20 – 21) Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

(21) Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Psalms 24:

The Chief Shepherd returns in glory for the sheep. – 1 Peter 5:4

(1 Peter 5:4) And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

A. Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

B. Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

C. BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
