Question? Was Lot’s wife saved?
Answer:
The bible does not say.
All that is recorded in Genesis 19:26 is that she looked back (in diobediance to God’s command to NOT look back – Verse 17) and then in Luke 17:32
(Genesis 19:26) But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
(Genesis 19:17) And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
(Luke 17:32) Remember Lot’s wife.
Lot’s wife MAY HAVE been saved.
.
There are MANY christians, sad as it is, that you COULD NOT determine by their lifestyle if they ARE christians they REFUSE just like Lot’s wife to let go or seperate themselves from this world. they refuse to be obedient to the will of the Lord.
That is why you NEVER determine if a person is saved by their manner of living, there are MANY lost people that live squeaky clean lives WHO would do anything to help others out, and by their lifestyle and MANY good deeds you would be CONVINCED that these people are saved, but you would be in the wrong.
The ONLY way to determine if a person is saved or not is by asking them “What MUST they do in order to get to heaven”? and depending on what they say in what they are “TRUSTING IN” to get them to heaven then, and only then can you say they are saved or lost.
There is alot of false teaching such as LordShip Salvation, that says that if a person DOES NOT have evidence of fruit(good works) then that person CANNOT be saved, That is a lie of satan, Lot DID NOT have any evidence(fruit=good works) to PROVE he was saved, if it wasn’t for the Lord telling us in 2 Peter 2:7 and 8 we would NOT HAVE known that Lot WAS saved
(2 Peter 2:7) And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
(2 Peter 2:8) (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
The next question i ask of you is: “Do you know for sure you are going to heaven when you die”.
IF NOT, here is how simple it is to know:
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
A. Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
B. Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
C. BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
