Question? I have heard many preachers try to explain this verse – (John 14:2), tell me where is Christ going to prepare a place for us?

(John 14:2) “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”.

Answer:

Very simple, Christ is preparing a place for us by going to the cross to pay for our sins, Just to use a very simple example: Christ has purchased our mansion by his death on the cross that is in heaven ALREADY waiting for us, then through our faithful service to Christ we earn the furniture that gets placed in that mansion, in other words the car is given to you but if you want to go anywhere you have to put the gas in it, the same is true with us, Christ gives us eternal life as a FREE GIFT, but if we want to have blessings here on earth and rewards in heaven we have to earn those.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

A. Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

B. Christ PAID your sins in Full – 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24

C. BELIEVE(Trust In Completely) on Christ ALONE for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death(Eternal Torment In Hell & The Lake of Fire); But the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord”. Romans 6:23
