Question? In Galatians 5:4, what does it mean you have fallen from Grace? Is it in reference to losing your salvation?
“Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace” (Galatians 5:4).
Answer:
The answer is, “NO.” The rule of Bible interpretation is to ALWAYS compare unclear verses with clear verses on the subject in question, which, in this case, is salvation. Those that believe you can lose your salvation go to this verse and say, “SEE, it says ‘FALLEN FROM GRACE.’” To be clear God only gives ONE KIND of salvation and that is ETERNAL LIFE, not temporary life.
God IS NOT the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). WE ARE, when we misinterpret scripture.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
The Bible also tells us, in Galatians 1:8,9, to BEWARE of anyone, even an angel, if they tell us of a Gospel, or doctrine, DIFFERENT from what God has told us in the Bible.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (8) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9)
Galatians 5:4 is about LOST PEOPLE. The word FALLEN should have been translated as TURNED. The Apostle Paul told the unsaved people that they had turned from grace to a FALSE GOSPEL, BECAUSE they were trying to be JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW, instead of by CHRIST’S death, burial and resurrection, ALONE, for their salvation. Therefore, Christ had become of NO EFFECT unto them BECAUSE they had rejected the Gospel of Christ. – 2 Corinthians 11:3,
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
The ABC’s Of Salvation:
A: Christ Died for you – Romans 5:8.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
B: Christ paid YOUR SINS in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed (1 Peter 2:24).
C: Believe (trust in/rely on completely) on Christ ALONE for your salvation. John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house (Acts 16:31).
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it isthe gift of God: (8) Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (1)
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (2)
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (3)
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH!
