Question? What is the Judgement in reference to in Hebrews 9:27?
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”. Hebrews 9:27
Answer:
Verse 27 states that man (people) have once to die, so this rules out reincarnation, past lives ect.
The Judgement spoken of here is speaking of the two judgement seats mentioned in the bible, The Judgement Seat Of Christ – For The Saved and The Great White Throne Judgement – For The Lost
The Judgement Seat Of Christ:
1 Corinthians 3:11-15:
(11) “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ”.
(12)Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble”;
(13)”Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is”.
(14) “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward”.
(15)”If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire”.
As stated this Seat is for ALL those who have TRUSTED In Christ ALONE as their savior and each person will give an account of what they have done for Christ during their life weather it be good(gold, silver, precious stones) or bad(wood, hay, stubble) if it is good they will receive a reward, and if it is bad it will be burned, some Christians will receive alot of rewards and others will receive very little to none it will all be based upon the faithfulness of the individual – 1 Corinthians 4:2. One thing to point out, in verse 15 it states that if even if ALL the Christians works(deeds, merits ect) are burned (wood, hay, stubble) that person will relieve NO rewards(suffer loss) YET STILL BE SAVED, Reason being: eternal life is a GIFT not a reward, this is what is called ETERNAL SECURITY. and those who DO NOT BELIEVE in eternal security have a WORKS BASED salvation FOR THEY ARE trusting in some deed or merit ect to help keep them saved.
The Great White Throne Judgement:
Revelation 20:11-15:
(11)And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
(12)And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
(13)And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
(14)And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
(15)And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
This seat is for ALL LOST(UNSAVED) people who have NEVER TRUSTED in Christ alone as their savior and they will be JUDGED accordingly from the book of works, and their name will be checked to see if it is in the book of life, which it will not be found in for it will have been TAKEN OUT upon death. This judgement is not to determine if they are lost(unsaved) because they already are, this throne judgement is to determine the lost persons degree of punishment in the Lake Of Fire – Matthew 11:21-24
Which Judgement Seat WILL YOU Be At?
(Act 16:31) “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”.
(1 John 5:13) “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God”.
