QUESTION 657

Question… In Mark 7:27, What did Jesus mean by his statement to the woman wiyh the demon possessed daughter?

Answer: First I must define some words in Jesus Statement.

* Children – Refers to the Nation of Israel, known as israelites or Jews.

* Bread, Crumbs – Means the Gospel and the Word Of God.

* Dogs – Refers to Gentiles, non Jewish nations & people.

What Jesus was saying to the woman who was of a Canaanite lineage (Gentile), That Israel was to recieve (be filled) and be responsible to share The Gospel and the Word Of God first and not the gentiles yet.

But because as stated in John 1:11, “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” The Jews as a nation REJECTED their prophesied Messiah, therefore Jesus went to the Gentile nations and GAVE them commission and task of spreading the Gospel and the Word Of God.

In Verse 28 we have the woman’s response “And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs (Gentile nations) under the table (the nation of Israel) eat (receive) of the children’s crumbs (the Gospel and Word Of God) .” which meant that she UNDERSTOOD what Jesus was saying to her (He had not yet been rejected by Israel) , and because of it, SHE BELIEVED and placed her FAITH ALONE in Christ as her Messiah and Savior, and for that faith Jesus casted out the demon in her daughter Mark 7:29 “And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.”

In Conclusion:

Jesus desire was for the Nation of Israel (The Jews) to BELIEVE and to SHARE the Gospel and the Word of God(Mark 16:15, John 8:32).

What about you, have you believed the Gospel and placed your faith alone in the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ONLY PAYMENT for your sins as the woman did. And if you have, Are you fulfilling the GREAT COMMISSION (Matthew 28:19,20) in taking The Gospel and the Word Of God to every person you have opportunity with.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins – See 1 Cor. 15:1-4.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved – Acts 16:31

The moment that you do, YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

Question 652

Question: Why did Jesus tell the healed leper not to tell anyone in Mark 1:44?

Mark 1:44… And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Answer... The reason is this…

#1 – Jesus wanted things done in the proper way (Ex. letting those in authority (the priest) know first hand instead of through the grapevine (heard from by others instead of by the ex – leper himself).

#2 – Jesus wanted to SHOW to the priest as the verse says For a testimony unto them”. that ONLY GOD can heal (because leporsy was considered a Judgement Of God because of sin) PROVING that he was GOD IN THE FLESH.

In Conclusion:

Lepers were ISOLATED from all of society INCLUDING worshipping in the temple. Lepers had to carry a bell with them in order to warn and make known of their presence and a 10 foot poll to prevent ANY CONTACT with people. Jesus, the God & Creator of the universe and all of mankind HAD COMPASSION (love – John 3:16) for the leper he not only healed the man physically but also cleansed him spiritually (provided salvation – Romans 5:8). Just as the Lord Jesus healed and cleansed the leper, the same applies to us as well. Jesus will heal (forgive – 1 John 1:9) us of our rottenness (sins) and will cleanse us spiritually (provide salvation – Acts 16:31) if we come in by faith.

Psalms 34:8 – “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him”.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins – See 1 Cor. 15:1-4.

Robert Serreyn

Hello! My name is Robert Serreyn. I am a U.S. Army Veteran of the first Gulf War, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm, 1990-1991.

I am married to a lovely lady named Susan.

I have always enjoyed reading, and studying the Bible, no matter where I am. People would notice this, and began to ask  some very interesting questions.

I was encouraged by my pastor to begin this website so  everyone could read the questions that people have asked about the Bible.

You would be surprised at the many, doctrinally, incorrect answers people have been given, taught and believe.

God says,  “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Bible also tells us, in Galatians 1:8,9, to BEWARE of anyone, even an angel, if they tell us of a Gospel, or doctrine, DIFFERENT from what God has told us in the Bible.

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (8)  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”  (Galatians 1:8-9).

RIGHT DOCTRINE does matter, ESPECIALLY if it is Bible Doctrine.
