Question? What was the purpose of circumcision in the Old Testament?

Answer:

Circumcision was to be PERFORMED on the eighth day AFTER the birth of a male child.

Medically God KNEW that on the eighth day the male baby’s immune system was the strongest and the blood would clot the best, this ALONE DISPROVES evolution, if the Male Child would have been circumcised at birth or a day before the eighth the child WOULD HAVE BEEN in danger of severe infection and or also of bleeding to death for the blood WOULD NOT have clotted as it should.

Circumcision was also a MARK OF IDENTIFICATION, in the Old Testament circumcision SET a person APART from ALL NON-JEWS.

Biblically speaking circumcision is a TYPOLOGY or PICTURE of Salvation By Blood BECAUSE God DEMANDED blood of animals to be shed for the ATONEMENT of sins.

ALL The Blood sacrifices FORESHADOWED and POINTED to the day when Jesus Christ WOULD COME and be the Lamb that was Slain.

(John 1:29) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The Gospel was and isTHE SAME in the Old Testament as it was in the New Testament and TODAY.

In the Old Testament, people LOOKED TO the cross when Christ WOULD COME and Die to shed his blood as the Complete Payment for their sins.

In The New Testament and Today, we LOOK BACK to the cross where Christ DID DIE and shed his blood as the Complete Payment for our sins.

In Conclusion:

Circumcision was a MARK OF IDENTIFICATION and also a TYPOLOGY of Salvation By Blood.

God HAS ALWAYS REQUIRED the shedding of blood FOR THE payment of sins Since Genesis 3:21

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Coats of Skin means that God KILLED and SHED THE BLOOD of an innocent animal as the ATONEMENT(covering) for Adam and Eve’s Sin.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell), but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
