Question? Is Proverbs 31:6,7 saying that drinking is ok?

(Pro verbs 31:6,7)  Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.(7)  Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Answer: NO

These verses DO NOT say it is OK or give the EXCUSE for anyone to drink alcohol.

A SIMPLE EXPLANATION:

V6:
Those WHO drink alcohol as this verse says “BE READY TO DIE” or be “READY FOR A EARLY DEATH”

How many young adults and teen’s alike have gone to an early grave BECAUSE OF drinking and driving.

How MANY people have been murdered BECAUSE OF drunken FITS OF RAGES or suicides committed.

V7:
YES, those WHO DO DRINK till drunk DO FORGET their troubles DURING ONLY at that time, but when they sober up ALL their problems they TRIED to drink away RETURN and are still there and were NEVER RESOLVED, drinking just made them SEEMED to go away.

DRINKING OR GETTING DRUNK IS NEVER THE ANSWER ONLY JESUS CHRIST IS!!!

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
