Question? Was the Apostle Peter ever a Pope?

Answer: A BIG NO

The Catholic Church has ALWAYS made this CLAIM that Peter was the first pope of their religious organization.

The Catholic Church has a BIG PROBLEM for the scripture states in Matthew 8:14 that Peter was MARRIED and NO POPE, PRIEST, CARDINAL, or ARCH BISHOP can be married ACCORDING to their church doctrine.

(Matthew 8:14) And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.

(1 Timothy 3:1,3) This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. (2) A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.

(Titus 1:5,6) For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: (6) If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Another hole in the claim to the Catholic Church that Peter was a Pope is the fact that the Apostle Paul NOT ONCE ever MENTIONED that Peter was ever in Rome.

In ALL of Paul’s epistles (letters) that he was INSPIRED by the Holy Spirit to write. NOT ONCE did he (Paul) write a greet to Peter, the Apostle Paul greeted everybody else BUT NOT Peter, You would think that IF Peter was such Leader or head of a Church Organization Paul should have at least mentioned his name but this IS NOT the case.

(2 Peter 1:20, 21) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

And let’s NOT FORGET the fact that Peter DENIED Christ THREE TIMES.

(Matthew 26:34, 74,75) Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. (74) Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. (75) And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

I say that’s NOT A good image of a SO CALLED pope when the church claims him to be the VICAR (representative) of God here on earth!!!

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
