Question? In Ezekiel 3:18 what does it mean but his blood will I require at thine hand?
(Ezekiel 3:18) When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Answer:
The key to understanding this is found in several phrases…
– Thou givest him not warning.
– Nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way.
TO DO WHAT???……….TO SAVE HIS LIFE, meaning SAVING HIS SOUL ETERNALLY.
Ezekiel 3:18 starts out and ends with a WARNING to the LOST PERSON (wicked), that they will SURELY DIE and SHALL DIE in their Iniquity (sins), meaning GO TO HELL upon death if they DO NOT BELIEVE the Gospel or REJECT Christ as their ONLY MEANS of Eternal Life.
(John 3:18,36) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
V18 also ends with the STEARN WARNING to the christian THAT FAILS to share the Gospel with the lost stating but his blood will I require at thine hand.
The answer and meaning to that phrase is that the Lord WILL HOLD the christian ACCOUNTABLE for not witnessing (Thou givest him not warning to save his life) at the Judgement Seat Of Christ.
(Romans 14:10,12) But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at naught thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (12) So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell, but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
