Question? If a person stops believing are they still saved?
Answer: YES
2 Timothy 2:13 states:
2 Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Take Note what this verse says…
– If we believe not: If a person becomes an unbeliever AFTER trusting Christ alone as saviour.
– Yet he abideth faithful: Jesus Christ REMAINS faithful to his promise of Everlasting Life to Whosoever Believeth – John 3:16.
– He cannot deny himself: AFTER a person believes that person is SEALED by the Holy Spirit – Ephesians 1:13, and BECOMES as righteous as God is THROUGH Jesus Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:21, Therefore God (Holy Spirit) CANNOT and WILL NOT CONDEMN himself or the Believer to everlasting punishment in hell.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
One thing a person MUST REMEMBER even though the believer MAY BECOME UNFAITHFUL (unbelieving) God NEVER BECOMES unfaithful to his Word or Promises after they have trusted Jesus Christ alone for salvation, for it is an EVERLASTING UNCONDITIONAL COVENANT between the Lord and the Christian.
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good.
In Conclusion:
YES it is POSSIABLE for a saved person to STOP BELIEVING and YET STILL BE SAVED because our salvation is NOT DEPENDANT upon us but UPON Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (4) To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, (5) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
