Question? Please sir give a brief explaination of John 15:1-7?

(John 15:1-7) I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.(3) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

a simple understanding of John 15:1-7 can be put in this way…

Just like a Tree, Bush, or a Vineyard of Grapes that NEED TO BE pruned to promote Growth, Life, and Fruit the same is true for the christian, WHO NEEDS the pruning of all the deadwood of sin in their life that hinders their growth (spiritual maturity) in the Lord.

To dispell a false teaching, there are those that teach that V6 says you can lose your salvation, but this is not so and here is why.

TAKE NOTE that it says and men gather them.

A CHRISTIAN’S POOR TESTIMONY is what is gathered and burned in the FIRES OF DOUBT in the eyes and minds of people not about the christian losing their salvation.

James 2:18 makes it VERY CLEAR

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

In otherwords if you want people to believe your claim to be a christian then YOU MUST give evidence of that claim, for the truth is that you might be the only bible that people might read, YES it is true that you can be saved and yet lead a life that is contrary to that fact, BUT most people will doubt that testimony when they see that you live contrary to your claim to be a christian.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
