Question 333

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? I am curious about Proverbs 11:24?

(Proverbs 11:24) There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Answer:

In essence this verse is teaching a very basic principle…

The more you give out ( scattereth ) the more you recieve ( yet increaseth ), the less you give out ( withholdeth ) the poorer you become ( tendeth to poverty ).

The Apostle Paul repeated this same principle in 2 Corinthians 9:6, in which he said…

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

How many christians have ROBBED THEMSELVES of blessings and rewards due to their lack of williness of putting the Lord first in their lifes and serving him? ONLY God knows.

A good example of this would be like expecting to recieve interest on money that you never deposited into a bank account.

In other words you get out what you put in and this is the principle that Proverbs 11:24 is teaching.

there have been many christians that have bankrupt (brought to poverty) themselves as far as Blessings, Joy, Peace of Mind, and Rewards are concerned due to THEIR UNFAITHFULNESS.

I am reminded of a qoute by the great late Dr. Hank Lindstrom (1940 – 2008) in which he stated that: “95 percent of christians WILL DO NOTHING for Christ in their life time”, and that my friend is a SAD SAD commentary indeed.

In Conclusion:

The reason why so many christians live defeated lives IS BECAUSE they have chosen rather to eat at the buffet line of the world than feasting on the fine dining of Christ.

If you want interest you have to invest and until you put something in you will never get anything out.

Please don’t rob yourself of the Blessings, Joy, and Rewards that the Lord wants to give you.

(Psalms 35:27) Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
