Question? In John 6:40 how do we see to believe?
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Answer:
Since we CANNOT SEE Jesus walking and talking physically today The APPLICABLE INTENT is that the lost unsaved person WOULD SEE Jesus in the christian BECAUSE OF their (the christians) good testimony and “Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for them”
The Bible states…
Matthew 5:13-16 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (14) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. (16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
V13 states that if the christian’s testimony (salt) has become tainted and ruined by sin (lost his savour) then it is no good in the eyes of the lost and is UNBELIEVED (cast out and trodden underfoot).
V16 says to let the lost (men) SEE your good testimony (works) – James 2:17 so that they can glorify your Father in heaven.
Question? how do the lost Glorify the Father in heaven?
Answer: By trusting Christ as their Saviour, believing that he died for them.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
