Question 398

Question? Where was Paul saved?

Answer:

On the Road to Damascus.

In Acts Chp. 9:1-8 we have the recorded account of events that took place, In V6 this is the written record WHERE the Apostle Paul was saved.

Acts 9:1-8 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, (2) And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. (3) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: (4) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (5) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (6) And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. (7) And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. (8) And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

In V5 we have Paul ACKNOWLEDGING the Lord Jesus Deity AS GOD (Gr. Kurios = Lord), then in V6 we have the written record of Paul’s salvation where he said ” Lord, what wilt thou have me to do”?

The Apostle Paul was saved at that moment and the Lord Jesus told him what he needed to next “The Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do”.

To dispell a FALSE TEACHING there are some that teach that Paul was not saved until V17 as THEY CLAIM he had not yet received the Holy Spirit but on the contrary, Ananias ADDRESSED SAUL (Paul), TAKE NOTE—> AS BROTHER.

Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

In Conclusion:

The Lord Jesus took Paul a murderer of christians and made him a missionary to the unsaved.

Paul had been a persecutor, but Christ made him a preacher.

Paul had been a blasphemer, but Christ made him a blessing.

The Lord Jesus CAN DO the same FOR ANYONE as he did for Paul.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The MOMENT you believe(TRUST in Christ ALONE) you receive eternal life.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
